REVIEWS

“There are those of us who are, sad to say, not talented. There are those of us who are talented in one field, or two. Nate Weida is talented in so many fields that it makes the rest of us envious.” – Alan R. Hall – Chapel Hill News

about THE NEW HOPEVILLE COMICS…

“Every once in a while a musical comes along that captures the spirit of its time flawlessly. The New Hopeville Comics, a new rock opera from Commander Squish Productions, is one of these shows.” – Toby Thelin – Off Off Online

“Weida’s music and lyrics are a driving force that propel this story with sounds gleaned from classical operas, traditional musical theatre, ‘60s and ‘70s rock, jazz, contemporary pop artists and even a little calypso. Like Pete Townsend and Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber, Weida creates a diverse musical storytelling not only with lyrics, but with musical phrasing, rhythms and underscoring that could stand alone as a rock opera album.” – Le-Anne Garland – Theatre is Easy

“Buoyant with youth, ambition, and invention… terrific, propulsive, melodic, feverish music.” – Michael Criscuolo – nytheatre.com

about BYUIOO

“a strong new play” – Ross Peabody – nytheatre.com
